New study programme Digital Business Management update December 08, 2020

Starting in the winter semester 2021/22, the SRH Dresden School of Management will offer the future-oriented, English-language master's program Digital Business Management. Interested students can choose between the specializations Cyber Security and Software Engineering.

Why do companies need graduates from this programme?

The digital transformation poses considerable strategic, technological, economic and communication-integrative challenges to companies in all industries. These companies therefore need specialists and managers who have a high degree of methodical and innovative-creative skills in order to develop unconventional and new solutions for these and still unknown challenges.

What are the contents of the program?

The study programme Digital Business Management (M. Sc.) prepares students to conceptualize and implement digitization strategies for companies. Through the course of study, they acquire methods for the development and management of companies as well as the techniques and instruments of innovation, organization, process and change management.

The highlights of the programme are the core modules on transformation strategies and methods, the elective modules (specializations), and the interdisciplinary and international orientation. In this way, Master's students acquire sound skills in modern management and consulting methods. After graduation, they will be able to lead teams and adequately fill functions in transformation management and at important interfaces, e.g. in business development, product development, IT management and marketing.

Our goal is to enable students to become experts in digital business, digital marketing, IT management, IT security, software engineering or product & service engineering - and thus to lead companies successfully into the digital future.

You can find all information about the program on the study programme page.

Welcoming of the new students at Campus Dresden Last week it was finally time. Starting on October 12, 2020, our introductory week for the new students took place at the campus Dresden.

We are very pleased that we were able to personally welcome our new students for the winter semester 2020/ 2021 during the week of October 12-16, 2020.

After the welcoming of our international and national students by the president of the SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Victoria Büsch, the students learned everything worth knowing about their studies: lectures on exams, introduction to the study model CORE and the study in general. This included information about our campus library or our language center. In addition, all freshmen were introduced to hybrid teaching, i.e. the alternation between classroom and online teaching.
Our director, Ms. Karin Zimmermann, was also present and personally introduced the students to the new phase of their lives. The professors introduced themselves to the students online and conducted the academic introduction.
Unfortunately, we were not able to welcome all the internationals to the campus due to corona-related entry restrictions. We hope, however, to be able to get to know all the students in person soon.

After the students had received a tour of the campus, there was a personal goodie bag for each of them. In the evening a digital Welcome Event took place, in which the Freshmen could get to know each other better. At the end of our Welcome Week we invited the students to a fitness challenge in different teams.

In any case, we had a lot of fun and we are happy that the campus is filled with life again.
