Dresden student Pascal Kruggel wins Hyatt Student Prize
Pascal Kruggel awarded as the best international student in hotel management
The 11th edition of the renowned "Hyatt Student Prize" featured a winner from Dresden: Pascal Kruggel, student at the SRH Hochschule Berlin Campus Dresden, received the coveted trophy on the evening of 10 December. He sat down in the two-day competition in Paris against seven finalists from France, Spain, India, Austria, Hong Kong and Italy. This makes the Detmold-born student the first bachelor's student and the second German who deserves this honor.
The jury, headed by Arsène Wenger, the sports manager of many years' standing, and with participation of KLM/Air France and Danone/Evian, among others, selected the Dresden student on the basis of his his integrative view of leadership, his many years of practical experience and his internationally oriented studies. The price includes, among other things, a workshop on management at the corporate headquarters of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Chicago and the Integration into a worldwide mentoring programme.
"I am enthusiastic, happy and grateful for this great experience and very happy," says Pascal. Kruggel put his first reaction together at the Hotel d'Evreux in Paris in the evening. "For us as small university is a special honor that one of our students has been awarded this international degree by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts", adds Prof. Dr. Hartwig Bohne, who is the representative of the of the university, which was also there.
In their search for tomorrow's leaders, 25 universities, the are active in the hotel industry, selected and invited their best students for the Hyatt Student Prize. At the SRH Dresden the choice was made because of the excellent Services on Pascal Kruggel. During his studies, the trained hotel specialist already worked in internships in various hotels and countries.
