Company@Campus - Operations Day with GULDSMEDEN HOTELS
Introduction: The "hygge" world of Guldsmeden
On January 24, 2019 it was quite "hygge" at the SRH Campus Dresden. The director of the LULU Guldsmeden Hotel Berlin, Marc Lorenz, dedicated his first "Operations Day" to the students of the English-taught Bachelor course "International Hotel Management" and explained both the "hygge" world of the Danish hotel group Guldsmeden and the challenges in the individual areas of the boutique hotel opened in 2018.
How is housekeeping managed efficiently today, which digital offers convince guests, which furnishings have to be selected in order to satisfy a special clientele - the range of to topics that students had to deal with and present in so-called "ad hoc presentations" was wide. "For us it is important that our students not only get to know large hotel chains, but also small hotels such as Guldsmeden Hotels, in order to teach them different management approaches as well as furnishing styles and corporate cultures," said the programme director, Prof. Dr. Hartwig Bohne, whose initiative brought the hotel director from Berlin to the Dresden campus.
