Semester abroad – Support from ERASMUS+

This is how Leonie from Germany is able to finance her English study programme:

I have been studying International Hotel Management in the English bachelor programme of the Hotel-Akademie since 2014. To finance my studies, I received a student load from the KfW Bank at the beginning of my studies. This is a German development bank, which offers young people loans with attractive terms. In order to avoid paying off my loan long after completion of my degree, I started working part-time in a hotel in Dresden. I work in the breakfast service and the banquet department. Of course, it is not always easy to maintain a balance between my university, work and personal life. Especially in the first semester, I did not always have time to attend friends’ birthday parties or visit my family on a regular basis. However, I benefit greatly from the practical experience that my part-time job provides and was even able to complete my 6-week internship there.

Extremely helpful – Our Part-Time Job Fair

Our Part-Time Job Fair, which takes place at the beginning of each winter semester, provides our students with the optimal chance to make their first contact with companies in Dresden and recruitment agencies right on our doorstep.

Interesting – As told by Haresh from India

„I am from India and came to Germany in January 2015 with a Resident Visa. Meanwhile, I have been studying International Hotel Management B.A. and am now in the 4th Semester. I am very glad to have found a part-time job with the Swissôtel Dresden at the Career Fair. It takes place once a year and I can strongly recommend it.”

Highly recommended – Students recruit students

If you are one of our enrolled and satisfied students, you can receive 500 € as a thank you for a successful recommendation. The condition is that the interested party is enrolled  at least for six month.

Our tip – Apply for student financial assistance (BAFöG)

The SRH Hochschule Berlin is a state recognized university. For this reason, students have a right to funding from the German state according to the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAFöG)

The terms of BAFöG are not reserved exclusively to German citizens.
